Budget Friendly Thrift Flip to hack your lamp base (or really any similar surface like a vase) into an expensive looking piece! Step-by-Step photos in addition to the materials you’ll need below.
Materials Needed:
- Two hues of gray acrylic colored paint
- Sandpaper
- Brown wood stain or acrylic paint
- Paint Brush
- Nail or old toothbrush
- Painters Tape
- White Spray Paint Primer
- Sea Sponge
- Stucco
Step 1: Sand Down Surface
Step 2: Place painters tape on areas you’d like to remain the same/untouched
Step 3: Spray surface with white (or gray) primer
Step 4: Brush stucco onto surface for desired texture
Step 5: Slightly water down acrylic paint & sponge dab the color randomly onto the primed stucco surface (alternate between the two gray hues chosen)
Step 6: Use the back of a nail (or old tooth brush) & dip into your brown wood stain / acrylic paint. From there spot dab randomly to create your desired detailing.
Step 7: Let dry & ta-da, your DIY Lamp Flip is complete!
