Top 3 Splurge & Save Shampoos + Conditioners

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Can’t decide if you want to splurge or save on shampoo & conditioner? As someone who used to work at a beauty supply store throughout high school, below are my top 3 splurge brands as well as top 3 savings swaps to try for yourself!

  1. Eleven Australia - this is a newer brand to me I’ve grown to love - It’s perfect for someone especially with thinner hair who tends to get greasy...this will leave you without excessive oil & help lengthen your wash periods while truly giving you great volume

2. Color Proof - this is a great line especially for treated hair since it’s formulated paraben & sulfate free (both ingredients that will strip coloring & generally aren’t good for you anyways) - personally the pink anti-frizz duo is my favorite...leaves my hair sleek & smelling amazing plus this formula is extremely concentrated so a little goes a long way as it doesn’t have surfactants (lathering properties companies put in for only consumer marketing/psychology purposes) also the green detox shampoo is fabulous (just get the travel size) for whenever you feel extra oily or like you have excessive product buildup i.e. dry shampoo, waxy, hair spray feeling

3. Ava - love the smell of this stuff, leaves your hair smelling great for days...my favorite is the smooth line...perfect for thicker, dry hair as this stuff is extremely moisturizing & another color safe product formulated without parabens or sulfates

4. Kristin Ess - budget friendly color safe line (sulfate & paraben free); solid universal hair type formula in my experience

5. OGX Coconut Milk - smells great, another paraben & sulfate option, good moisturizer too

6. L’Oréal Ever Pure - Sulfate free, non-drying volume duo
